I was researching on how can I improve the websites I created when I stumbled upon Robin Sharma's blog. He has written the "50 New Rules of Work". He encourages us to share, discuss and debate with our team throughout our organization. Let's try them over the next thirty days and let's see the results.

1. You are not just paid to work. You are paid to be uncomfortable – and to pursue projects that scare you.

Marketing Lessons from Seth Godin

For the past couple of days, we’ve been reading a lot of books. As far as I can remember I read almost three books in three weeks time. It’s a bit slow you might say but I like to note that I still have my Monday to Friday work, my blog posts daily, my daily conversations with my family, my weekend activities and preparations to my first ever Internet Marketing Workshop event.

And I’m excited to read a new book from Seth Godin entitled Meatball Sundae. Before I discuss that book (because I already have some idea what topics will be discussed in that book through Tito Tony and Edel’s stories), I’ll first share with you some marketing lessons I’ve learned from All Marketers are Liars Story Tellers.

• Find a product that you really, really like. In my case, I really love to read blog articles from my mentors (this includes Bo Sanchez, Seth Godin, Jomar Hilario, Janmck Hilado, and a lot more). I love reading a lot of books (Robert Allen, Mark Victor Hansen, Seth Godin, Bo Sanchez, etc). Lastly I really love to learn more about my finances, my health, and my relationships with my family, friends, colleagues and my God in short all aspects of my life.  I have this vision of becoming a role model in a society I belong. Through the help of these materials, I know I’ll get there someday.

• Tell the world about the product that you like. In other words, share your stories. Share how these products changed your life. Share your experiences through writing, through videos, through stories, and any form you choose. In my case, this blog and the some forms of social media (facebook, twitter, mail etc), enables me to share my stories to a bunch of people online. I create blog posts like these or shout-outs in my facebook page to share some key learnings that helped me grow. Sometimes, people are not fond of reading my posts but that’s okay. It is not intended for them anyway. I know I have attracted people having the same mindset. Luckily, you’re one of them.

• Live with your story. This is the most crucial part of marketing. Your followers (or the people you have attracted) need to see an inspiration in you. They need to see a proof that the product you are telling them really helped you. If it does not show, they will never believe in your story or worst they’ll look for someone that they can trust. A follower can really distinguish if you are lying or if you are telling the truth. So be really careful what you are sharing or selling. If you can’t do it, don’t say it. Walk the talk.

A successful marketer follows the principles above. Some people can really sell products they don’t like but there will come a time that people will notice it. Once the people notice it, definitely his sales will drop significantly and the worst thing that may happen? Trust will be lost.

Don’t lose that hard-earned trust.

Find a product you believe in. Share them. Walk the talk.

The Story of a Fly Named Marty

Recently, I love creating stories. If you haven’t read my previous post, I suggest you read it if you want to achieve your dreams.

On this post, I’ll be sharing with you another story. I got this story from Dr. Jaime Lorenzo, a Marketing Director of IMG during his talk entitled Financial Wakeup Call (Series 1 of IMG’s Wealth Academy). Actually, Dr. Jaime said, he got this story from Sir Noel Arandilla (a CEO of IMG).

The story revolves around a fly named Marty (not his real name). By the way, I'm a great fan of Back to the Future Series that's why I named my fly character as Marty.

Marty is an adventurous fly who loves to fly a lot. He loves to go to places where no fly ever dared to go before.

One day, he saw a small opening on a glass window. He was so curious he landed on the window sill and saw a huge room in front of him. Due to his excitement, he flew inside. The whole room is surrounded by glass windows. Every glass window provides great scenery of the garden outside. It was an overwhelming sight for a fly. He was amazed. So he flew around to get a better view of the beautiful garden outside.

Minutes later, he got tired and decided to leave the room and go out to explore the garden outside. So he flew towards the garden but he hit the glass window.

Then he flew towards the garden again, he hit the glass window for the second time.

Third attempt, bumped into the glass window again.

He keeps on flying towards the garden but all this time he always bumps into the glass window. Marty was so frustrated to get out. He bumped on the glass window so hard and he fell to the ground. He knocked himself unconscious.

Lessons learned with Marty the Fly.

If you want to get out of something, do something you never tried doing before.

We fail because most of the time we keep on doing the same thing all over again. Yes, we have worked so hard to get the things we wanted (just like Marty) but we all know that this is not enough. Aside from hard work, we need to have the right strategy.

How to have the right strategy?

1. Learn from previous mistakes. It is okay to commit mistakes. In fact we can learn a lot of things from our mistakes. There was a saying that goes like this. In order to have the right decisions we need to have experiences and to get an experience is through wrong decisions.
2. Be knowledgeable. If only Marty knew that there’s a glass window in front of him, he will never fly towards that direction.
3. Get a mentor. Many people say that having a mentor is expensive. Most of the time, I agree but did they know that ignorance is a lot more expensive?



Epilogue of the Story

Minutes have passed Marty woke up. He realized that he’s doing the same thing all over again. So he paused and looked around. He observed every window and looked for a pattern with his amazing vision. He then saw an open window. He flew towards that open window and he got out of the glass room.

Free Stuffs in the Internet

Happy new year everyone!

This is my first post for 2010. And I believe this is a useful information you should know.

This post is about free stuffs available in the internet.

Some can be found using torrents. I got tons of ebooks, audiobooks and seminars for free using torrent. By the way, I'm using isohunt-utorrent. Just use the search function of isohunt.com and them download your own copy of utorrent. Viola, you have your free stuffs. Be careful though, some torrents contain viruses that may harm your computer.

Some can be found by just surfing the net (use google). Most of the famous authors are giving away their stuffs for free once in a while.

Just like today, Paulo Coelho, gave three ebooks for free. Check out this link. Paulo Coelho's free ebooks. Please take note, that this is until this month only so better save your own copy.

Three weeks ago, Seth Godin gave some cool stuffs in his blog. Check out my previous post about Seth Godin.

Lesson Learned from watching Survivor Samoa

I watched the Survivor Samoa finale two weeks ago. There’s one castaway there that really taught me a lot. His name is Russell Hantz. He has an oil company. He’s already rich. Then he joined survivor just to win the title of Sole Survivor.

I like how he focused on the game. He did everything he needed just to get what he wanted. First, he beats the odds. He found the hidden immunity idol without a clue. No one in the history of survivor (in all its 19 seasons) did this.

Only Russell.

He’s the only one.

How did he find it?

Of course he searched for it. He worked hard to find it. He believed himself that he can have it. And he was right. He was able to have the hidden immunity idol. Take note, this does not happen once but thrice! Imagine that. Imagine how focused he was.Imagine how he wants to win the title of Sole Survivor.

But not that’s all, during merge their tribe was outnumbered 8 to 4, but you know what happened? The four people from their tribe were still part of Final 5, all thanks to Russell.

During the Survivor Reunion, he said that they (CBS, the television station who aired survivor) edited the video that made him see the hidden idols effortlessly. But in fact, he looked all over the place just to find the hidden idols. That’s one good point if we want to get the things we want. We should do our very best to get what we want. It’s okay to commit mistakes. It’s okay if we failed for the first attempts. The important thing is we are focused to get what we want.

Sadly, Russell never won the title of Sole Survivor. He fell short with the jury votes. This could happen to us as well. We may not get everybody’s approval. We may receive a lot of negative comments but this should not stop us. This should not hinder us from getting our goals. Instead, this should inspire us to get going and to prove to ourselves that we can do this.

So now, the question will be…

Do you want to be a goal getter to get everything that you want?

You might ask me, where do I start?

First, have a goal. Russell’s goal is to get the title of Sole Survivor. What about you? I suggest you write it down and read it daily or create a dream board and post it so that you can see it every day. This way, you’ll be reminding yourself that you have goals and you’re ready to get it. Click here to create your dream board online.

And second, do whatever it takes to reach that goal. Just like Russell, desperately find your hidden immunity idol with or without clue. Know how to play the game. Don't procrastinate.

The second part takes a lot of courage, time and effort. You need to learn. You need to have the knowledge. You need to have the guts. You need to have everything that will help you to get what you want. But you can do this by having a mentor who will teach you, who will guide you. But don’t settle for one. Find more. I know there are a lot more out there.

Farewell 2009 Hello 2010 Part 1

I believe that 2009 is such a successful year for me. Here are some highlights of my 2009.

Attended Jomar Hilario's Internet Marketing Workshop
Last March 28-29, I attended Jomar Hilario's Internet Marketing Workshop. This workshop opened my mind to the vast money making opportunities in the world wide web like blogging, creating sales letter, creating sales blog etc. It unlocked my skills as a HTML programmer (quite) and as a writer. This workshop really harnessed my computer skills to the next level.

Went to Puerto Princesa Palawan with Edel
Actually, a lot of firsts happened on this trip. Booked flights. Booked a hotel. Transfered reservation fees. Renewed my driver's license. Rode an airplane. Spilled a mocha frappe in an airplane (I'll never forget this experience). Met a cool tour guide (Ma'am Gloria, she definitely talks a lot!). Saw a lot of nature's wonders (Puerto Princesa Palawan is such a wonder). Saw a fighting monitor lizards. Met a couple who wants to travel a lot (imagine their flight cost them at around 1.5K each round trip!). After the trip we're invited by a Singapore-Philippines Association President to dine on his own restaurant in Malate.

Went on a business trip in Malaysia
Melisa, Tonie and I went to Avon Malaysia for a training. Just like in the Puerto Princesa Trip there are a lot of firsts happened on this event. Flew an international flight. Stamped my passport. Rode a train in an airport. Rode a right hand taxi. Rode a 110km/hour taxi while the taxi driver is opening his door (scary huh?). Got a Malaysian Ringgit. Slept in a hotel room alone. Saw a country with three different nationalities (Malaysian, Chinese, and Indian). Saw the Petronas Tower (amazing lights). Drank a sweetened milo in a plastic with straw (believe me, this is something new). Shared a book that changed the way I think of things (Michael Losier's Law of Attraction) with my boss and automatically it worked instantly without her opening/reading it. Went to Aquaria and Aquazone in Kuala Lumpur. Enjoyed a fish spa where my dead skin cells were eaten by fishes. And the best thing that happened in this trip? I got promoted!

Attended Kerygma Conference 2009 in Araneta Coliseum
The date is November 28-29. This is my first time to attend an event in Araneta Coliseum (second time in Kerygma Conference). All I can say is, amazing! This event is such a huge inspiration for us to dream big and win big in all areas in our lives. My mind was blown to the highest level. Bo Sanchez is such a talented man who wants everyone of us to be a champion. He's a great instrument of God's Love. I really experienced God's miracle in this two-day event. By the way, I'm with Edel, Marvin, Liz, Faye and Gerald.

More firsts (uncategorized)
Ordered a book in Amazon online. Created a social networking site in ning. Replaced my 5 year old CPU. Became part of company's First Friday Mass Choir (I'm the guitarist). Learned how to invest in stocks, mutual funds etc. Learned how to plan for the future finances. Been able to setup mid term goals. Won in a Christmas Party raffle (consolation prize but I still won, thanks to Law of Attraction!).

Got a mentor in real estate in the name of Ann Salvador (Crown Asia Condos) and Trace Trajano (more of online mentorship : buyfirstdeal.com), in our finances Rachelle Paunlagui (more of investing in stocks, mutual funds etc) and Dra. Dada Rosanes and Engr. Noel Arandilla of IMG (almost anything about investing), in internet marketing, Jomar Hilario and my spiritual mentor Bo Sanchez who taught us how to be a champion.

I believe that there are a lot more things and accomplishments that happened this year. I'm glad to say that 2009 is really our mentor year. Just like we planned last year, we will be looking for our mentors that will guide us in all aspect of our lives and it really happen. Now we have a couple of mentors guiding us in every step that we take. We ask them questions if we're uncertain. We seek for their advice. Believe me, they're priceless. I know these handful mentors of us will bring us to the top. These mentors will help us to conquer our fears and push us forward to achieving our dreams.

On my next post, I'll be sharing my fearless forecast for 2010.

I found a new online mentor. I met him through my other mentor Jomar Hilario. Actually, I've heard about him before but not until now I realize that he's a great guy. I think he's a good writer. A good and Godly person.

By the way, I recently subscribed in his newsletter and believe me, I got tons of great information at that instant. Imagine that.

If I had to pick one piece of marketing advice to give you, that would be it.

Now.

Make something happen today, before you go home, before the end of the week. Launch that idea, post that post, run that ad, call that customer. Go the edge, that edge you've been holding back from... and do it today. Without waiting for the committee or your boss or the market. Just go.

It's one of the short articles of Seth Godin but really powerful, concise and direct to the point. There's a lot more on his site.

One more note, I suggest you surround yourself with lots of people better than you. Why? So that you'll be able to learn more from their mistakes, from their experiences, from their failures, from their successes.

Parable of the Fisherman and the Bank Investor

A bank investor was taking a much-needed vacation in a small coastal village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. The boat had several large, fresh fish in it.

The investment banker was impressed by the quality of the fish and asked the fisherman how long it took to catch them. The fisherman said, "Only a little while." The banker then asked why he didn't stay out longer and catch more fish?

The fisherman replied he had enough to support his family's immediate needs.

The investor then asked "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

The fisherman replied, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my friends: I have a full and busy life."

The investment banker scoffed, "I am an Ivy League MBA, and I could help you. You could spend more time fishing and with the proceeds buy a bigger boat, and with the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats until eventually you would have a whole fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to the middleman you could sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You could control the product, processing and distribution."

Then he added, "Of course, you would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to another city where you would run your growing enterprise."

The fisherman asked, "But, how long will this all take?"

To which the investor replied, "15-20 years."

"But what then?" asked the fisherman.

The laughed and said, "That's the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich. You could make millions."

"Really? Millions? Then what?"

The investment banker replied, "Then you would retire. You could move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your friends."

My note on this parable. It does not take a lot of money just to have wealthy life.

Lesson Learned : Act Now!

Yesterday Edel and I attended the second day of Jomar Hilario's Internet Marketing Workshop in Cubao Quezon City. I'm happy to see my Internet Marketing mentor, Jomar, again for the fifth time (fourth time this year). We facilitated the event. We've met a lot of acquaintances with the same mindset of getting rich through the use of technology, in this case the power of the Internet.

This is my second time to attend the Day 2 of the workshop. Day 2 is about creating your own online business. I remember that when I attended the workshop last March 27-28, 2009, I was overwhelmed. There's so much idea that I need to learn in order to setup my own business online. I was not able to grasp all of it. Thankfully, after the workshop yesterday, I was able to understand it more.

The greatest lesson I learn yesterday about the workshop is not about creating sales blog, not about creating an autoresponder, and not about becoming an affiliate marketer. The greatest lesson I learned is how to act now. Jomar keeps on saying these three powerful words are (1) ACT!, (2) ACT! and (3) ACT!.

I guess he's right. The only thing I need to do is to act. And the best time to act is now!

You might ask, why now? Do you have everything you need?

My answer is Oh Yes!

I have all the arsenals I need in order to succeed. I got my knowledge, my skill, my mentor, my Internet connection, my computer, my mentor, my sexy editor, my virtual assistant, my soon-to-be life partner, my time, my energy and everything I forgot to mention. They are all ready. They just need me to make use of them. They just need me to make that very first step towards that goal of becoming a multi-millionaire internet marketer and best selling author.

And you know what, I'm happy to say that I made my very first step.

I hope you will be able to make that first step too...

The Universe of Blog and Financial Literacy

I am doing an unusual thing today. Usually, when I write articles here on my blog I directly encode them in blogger. This time, I’m using Microsoft Word. Why? I don’t know.

Haha…

Kidding aside, Honestly, I’m just looking for a synonym of the word “excited” that’s why I opened MS Word and then I decided to write the article here instead. Microsoft Word is handy with its thesaurus function.

So why in the world I searched for a synonym of the word “excited” because I want to have the right word to describe what I’m feeling right now.

What’s the magic word? I can’t find any. But I do have lot of words that eventually could sum up to the feeling I’m having right now and hopefully at the end of this post, I can figure it out.

A lot of things happened that makes me feel excited. First, the discussion with our financial mentor went well yesterday. We had a nice time. A lot of questions have been answered. I am now in the process of making an investment in stock market with the help of my mentor. She also introduces us to Trading Game in the Philippines Stocks Exchange website.

Also, in relation to this, I got a copy of Cashflow 202 eGame. This version takes the stock market to the next level that’s why I love it. J

I have a vision that I will be able to invest in stock market early next year before my 25^th birthday.  I will be learning a lot of information about my own financial status and growth before year end.

It’s true that when you focus on something the universe is aligning all the things needed in order to fulfill our desires.

Speaking of focus, there’s another thing I’m focusing my attention to. Well, you see I’ve been a blogger for almost seven months now. I’m focused and determined to obtain that target Adsense earning. Honestly, sometimes I feel frustrated because seven months is quite long to earn my target earning in Adsense but hey that’s okay. A lot of bloggers out there took more than a year just to earn their first $100. I believe that this month I will be happy to see that I'm hitting my target earning in Adsense. Thanks to my blogs and more importantly to the upcoming Pacquiao-Cotto Fight (watch the Pacquiao-Cotto Fight online here).

By the way, I’m happy to say that my first blog reaches the PR2 mark. This is good news (to know more about that blog click here). I’ll be sharing my success story on how do I reach that PR2 status soon. So stay tuned.

I’m very positive that all of this will happen within the next couple of days. I know that the universe is doing all the things they can to bring me all the things I need to do, all the people I need to have and all the resources I need to obtain the things I desire.

Events this November

It's has been a week since my last article was posted on this blog. Well you see, I'm a bit excited how the things are coming our way. Big thanks to God and to the law of attraction of course. For this post, I'll be giving you my activities for the month. Okay? Let's start.

Today, Edel and I will be meeting our financial mentor. She will be coaching us on how to invest in stock market. Also, she will be teaching us on how to secure a life insurance. If you read Bo Sanchez' book about 8 Secrets of the Truly Rich you'll know what I mean. Honestly, we've been praying for a financial mentor near our area so that we can meet them on a regular basis.  I thank God that He responded. God is really a good provider.

On the second week of November, I will be out of the country for the first time of my life. I will be going to Malaysia for a company training. I will be there for a week. Gosh! I'm excited.

On the third week of November (November 20-21), my internet marketing mentor will be having his Internet Marketing Workshop in Cubao. This workshop opened my eyes to the world of internet business. Finally on the last week of November (November 28-29), we will be attending the Kerygma Conference at Araneta Coliseum.
