While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Philippine Senator was tragically hit by a car and died.PS. For the profile of May 2010 Election candidates for Presidency, check out the Votebook compilation.
His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator.
"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."
"Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator.
"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."
And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.
Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the Filipino people.
They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne.
Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes.
They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go.
Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises...
The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven."
So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.
"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."
The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."
So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.
The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.
"I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"
The devil smiles at him and says,
"Yesterday we were campaigning ...Today, you voted."

Frogo the Frog who made that JUMP!
Recently, I’ve been playing Icy Tower in Facebook. The game’s objective is to reach the top of the tower by jumping on collapsing floors. This game reminds me of Ice Climber, a game in Family Computer when I was a kid. Now you have an idea how old I am. Laughs.
Also, it reminds me a story of the frog whose dream is to see the world outside the well.
The story goes like this.
There was a group of frogs living in the well. They live in that well since they were born. They never thought of hopping outside the well. Their ancestors told them stories of other frogs who dared to go out of the well.
Their ancestors tell them this horror story since they were a tadpole. The world outside this well is full of monsters. There was this young frog on his mid-20s (I’m using here Frog Calendar, okay? Believe me, their calendar is different from Gregorian calendar we use in our everyday life) who dares to jump off and leave this place. He never came back. He was eaten by monsters. He was eaten by giant monsters living outside this well.
These monsters have huge teeth that can crush every bone in your body. They have huge claws that would rip your skin apart. They use every inch of their strength to get you as a test subject in their biology class. So that they will dissect you and do anything and everything to make you suffer the rest of your life.
Every time a group of tadpole hears this story they were so scared. They were so scared to be eaten, to become test subject, to be dissected. They don’t want this to happen to them. So they never dared to jump out. They never did.
So they just play, eat, hop, jump, sleep and everything a typical group of frog is fond of doing. These activities were all done in the well.
But there was a frog who does not believe in this story. He believes that there’s a larger playground outside that well. In his mind he believes that the world outside the well is a larger playground where they could play, eat, hop, jump, sleep and everything a typical group of frog is fond of doing.
One day, he shared this idea on his parents. But his parents never believed him. They did not agree on a huge playground outside the well. They said that jumping off the well is a suicide.
However, Frogo has a different vision. He still sees a huge world outside the well.
Every day he trained so hard to reach the edge. Every day he works so hard. Every day he plans a strategy on how to use the walls of the well.
Then one day, he said to himself “today is the day to get out of the well.”
So he jumped as high as he could. He jumped and jumped until he was halfway through. At the middle of his ascent, he got tired. He is so exhausted. He started slipping on the side of the well. He started to worry. Other side of his mind said that he can’t make it but the other half keeps on pushing and reminding him that he’s near.
Of course, he trusted the other half of his brain, the one who reminded him to make that push. So he kept on jumping.
Eventually he got out of the well.
He saw the huge lake in front of him.
It was an overwhelming site. There were no monsters. There were no Biology students. Only a giant lake just like he saw on his vision.
He looked down on the well saying that his right. There’s a huge lake outside the well.
But his friend never heard him.
So he jumped off and enjoyed the huge lake he discovered.
There’s an ocean of opportunities outside your comfort zone. There are obstacles that block your path to success. But I tell you, most of the successful people (Bo Sanchez, Robert Kiyosaki, my IMG mentors, etc) did what Frogo did. They made that decision to jump outside their comfort zone.
Do you want to be successful? Do what they did. Make that jump.

Two Stories About Relationships
For today’s post, I’ll share two great stories that would teach us a valuable lesson in understanding what really matters in life.
Story 1. Lemonade Store Story.
I got this story from Seth Godin’s blog. It is about two lemonade stands run by kids.
The first stand is run by two kids. They use Countrytime lemonade, paper cups and a bridge table. It's a decent lemonade stand, one in the long tradition of standard lemonade stands. It costs a dollar to buy a cup, which is a pretty good price, considering you get both the lemonade and the satisfaction of knowing you supported two kids.
The other stand is different. The lemonade is free, but there's a big tip jar. When you pull up, the owner of the stand beams as only a proud eleven year old girl can beam. She takes her time and reaches into a pail filled with ice and lemons. She pulls out a lemon. Slices it. Then she squeezes it with a clever little hand juicer.
The whole time that's she's squeezing, she's also talking to you, sharing her insights (and yes, her joy) about the power of lemonade to change your day. It's a beautiful day and she's in no real hurry. Lemonade doesn't hurry, she says. It gets made the right way or not at all. Then she urges you to take a bit less sugar, because it tastes better that way.
While you're talking, a dozen people who might have become customers drive on by because it appears to take too long. You don't mind, though, because you're engaged, almost entranced. A few people pull over and wait in line behind you.
Finally, once she's done, you put $5 in the jar, because your free lemonade was worth at least twice that. Well, maybe the lemonade itself was worth $3, but you'd happily pay again for the transaction. It touched you. In fact, it changed you.
Which entrepreneur do you think has a brighter future?

Okay. I’ll share some more.
Story 2. Dreams Discussion.
Last night, Edel and I had a serious meeting. We’ve been discussing our dreams, our plans, our strategies etc. Basically, the things that we want to happen in the future.
The discussion went well when I shared my dreams with her. She listened patiently. She nodded. She agreed. She wrote everything down in a paper with the dates next to my dreams. She wrote everything I’ve said like house and lot, house renovation, parents’ retirement, wedding, gadgets, and the list goes on.
Then, minutes later, I’m done. It’s now Edel’s turn to say her dreams.
I got the pen and the paper. It’s my turn to write down her dreams.
Then, she spoke with much eagerness and conviction that she wanted to have freedom. Her dream is to have freedom to have time with her close friends. She has this dream of visiting them on a weekly basis.
I said, “Is that your dream?”
She answered yes.
Actually, I didn’t expect to hear this from her. I’m expecting something more tangible (just like my dreams). That’s why I kept on arguing. I tried my best to squeeze out some juices from her brain to come up with a tangible dream just like I presented.
To cut the long story short, we had a debate. It’s a debate between my pride and her dreams. In the end she won. She won the debate.
How?
She explained that her dream is to establish a strong relationship with her friends, with her colleagues, with her loved ones.
Edel has this dream of loving from the start. She has this dream of nurturing friendship. She has this dream of building a strong relationship.
Yes. I got this dream of providing material stuffs to the person I love but it does not specify that I’m giving them love.
I failed to dream to love others which Edel reminded me of doing. I just dream of providing them what they want or I guess what I think they want.
But if I provide them what I think they want? Would that make me happy? Would that make them happy? Perhaps yes. Perhaps no. Why? Because I just provide them superficial things. I dream of providing them temporary happiness.
Edel's dreams are long lasting. Edel's dreams will give her sacred happiness. (Click here if you want to know sacred happiness?) It will not be taken away from her.
This idea hit me hard. Really, really hard. I almost cry in front of her. But hey, I know it is okay. She loves me. Even if I think that way.
After our discussion, I gave her the tightest hug I can ever give. I gave her my apologies for acting so rude and lastly I thanked her for helping me realize that one important thing.
Friend, build a long lasting and a strong relationship. This will give you not superficial happiness but a sacred one.
Invest time with your loved ones.

The Story of a Fly Named Marty
Recently, I love creating stories. If you haven’t read my previous post, I suggest you read it if you want to achieve your dreams.
On this post, I’ll be sharing with you another story. I got this story from Dr. Jaime Lorenzo, a Marketing Director of IMG during his talk entitled Financial Wakeup Call (Series 1 of IMG’s Wealth Academy). Actually, Dr. Jaime said, he got this story from Sir Noel Arandilla (a CEO of IMG).
The story revolves around a fly named Marty (not his real name). By the way, I'm a great fan of Back to the Future Series that's why I named my fly character as Marty.
Marty is an adventurous fly who loves to fly a lot. He loves to go to places where no fly ever dared to go before.
One day, he saw a small opening on a glass window. He was so curious he landed on the window sill and saw a huge room in front of him. Due to his excitement, he flew inside. The whole room is surrounded by glass windows. Every glass window provides great scenery of the garden outside. It was an overwhelming sight for a fly. He was amazed. So he flew around to get a better view of the beautiful garden outside.
Minutes later, he got tired and decided to leave the room and go out to explore the garden outside. So he flew towards the garden but he hit the glass window.
Then he flew towards the garden again, he hit the glass window for the second time.
Third attempt, bumped into the glass window again.
He keeps on flying towards the garden but all this time he always bumps into the glass window. Marty was so frustrated to get out. He bumped on the glass window so hard and he fell to the ground. He knocked himself unconscious.
Lessons learned with Marty the Fly.
If you want to get out of something, do something you never tried doing before.
We fail because most of the time we keep on doing the same thing all over again. Yes, we have worked so hard to get the things we wanted (just like Marty) but we all know that this is not enough. Aside from hard work, we need to have the right strategy.
How to have the right strategy?
1. Learn from previous mistakes. It is okay to commit mistakes. In fact we can learn a lot of things from our mistakes. There was a saying that goes like this. In order to have the right decisions we need to have experiences and to get an experience is through wrong decisions.
2. Be knowledgeable. If only Marty knew that there’s a glass window in front of him, he will never fly towards that direction.
3. Get a mentor. Many people say that having a mentor is expensive. Most of the time, I agree but did they know that ignorance is a lot more expensive?
Epilogue of the Story
Minutes have passed Marty woke up. He realized that he’s doing the same thing all over again. So he paused and looked around. He observed every window and looked for a pattern with his amazing vision. He then saw an open window. He flew towards that open window and he got out of the glass room.

Story of the Elephant Sized Lechon
Imagine yourself in a fancy restaurant. You ordered one whole lechon. Then your order came. You were shocked and overwhelmed. It was so huge! It’s almost the size of a baby elephant. You started to wonder if you can eat all of it even if you haven’t eaten for quite some time.
Do you think you can finish it all at once? I don’t think so.
You need to slice chunk of it then slowly eat it piece by piece (you won’t be able to breathe if you eat it whole at once, if that happens you’ll die). I suggest you start by eating the skin part, then the belly, then goes to the head, then lastly the apple on the pig’s mouth. By the way, don’t forget to pause and celebrate for a job well done after finishing one of its parts.
Same goes with our dreams. We need to cut them into chewable slices in order to achieve it piece by piece. We need to focus our attention on one part then once we’re done shift our attention to the other parts. In between we need to celebrate for our success for finishing one task. This will motivate us to advance and finish the next mini goal.
But I’ll share you one secret cheat that would simplify the bite-sizing process. In order to achieve your dream as fast as you can, create your own dream team. This will definitely work with the lechon example I used in the earlier paragraph.
Let’s end this with one of my favorite success stories.
One man thought of an unrealistic dream. He dreamed of having 10 special ministries for the poorest of the poor. He wanted to care for abandoned elderly, visit the prisoners, house the orphans and send the street kids to schools. That dream is really unrealistic.
But here’s what he did.
He devoted his attention in building his first ministry. It took him 10 years to build this ministry. So he did his math. If he wants to fulfill his dream of having 10 ministries it will take him 100 years in order to finish it. So he decided to cheat. He looked for a team that has a passion for the poor. And together they are expanding their ministries. To date his unrealistic dream of having 10 ministries is no longer a dream. Why? They have now seven ministries for the poorest of the poor (Three more ministries to go). By the way, that man is no other than my spiritual mentor Bo Sanchez (be part of his wealth coaching program).
Do you have your own elephant sized lechon dream? Learn to bite size it. Learn to focus your attention into one part then celebrate then move to another part. And lastly, to fast track this process, find/create your own dream team.

Do you think you can finish it all at once? I don’t think so.
You need to slice chunk of it then slowly eat it piece by piece (you won’t be able to breathe if you eat it whole at once, if that happens you’ll die). I suggest you start by eating the skin part, then the belly, then goes to the head, then lastly the apple on the pig’s mouth. By the way, don’t forget to pause and celebrate for a job well done after finishing one of its parts.
Same goes with our dreams. We need to cut them into chewable slices in order to achieve it piece by piece. Parable of the Fisherman and the Bank Investor
A bank investor was taking a much-needed vacation in a small coastal village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. The boat had several large, fresh fish in it.
The investment banker was impressed by the quality of the fish and asked the fisherman how long it took to catch them. The fisherman said, "Only a little while." The banker then asked why he didn't stay out longer and catch more fish?
The fisherman replied he had enough to support his family's immediate needs.
The investor then asked "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
The fisherman replied, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my friends: I have a full and busy life."
The investment banker scoffed, "I am an Ivy League MBA, and I could help you. You could spend more time fishing and with the proceeds buy a bigger boat, and with the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats until eventually you would have a whole fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to the middleman you could sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You could control the product, processing and distribution."
Then he added, "Of course, you would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to another city where you would run your growing enterprise."
The fisherman asked, "But, how long will this all take?"
To which the investor replied, "15-20 years."
"But what then?" asked the fisherman.
The laughed and said, "That's the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich. You could make millions."
"Really? Millions? Then what?"
The investment banker replied, "Then you would retire. You could move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your friends."
